Dear Anne,

Europe’s legislation governing animal experiments, EU Directive 86/609, is now some 20 years old. It has desperately needed a review for a long time, and it is now being reviewed by the European Commission. This is a great opportunity to call on EU legislators to use the review to substantially increase efforts to replace animal experiments with more humane and scientifically relevant non-animal techniques. PETA Europe is supporting a petition calling for action which has been launched by the Dr Hadwen Trust, a UK non-animal medical research charity.

Please sign the petition at www.endeuanimaltests.org. It’s available in many EU languages, including French and Dutch, so you can use the “E-mail this to a friend” feature to spread the word far and wide. Help us show the European Parliament that Europe’s citizens want urgent action to end the suffering of animals in laboratories.
